About Third Space Coffee:
It's only fitting that Third space cafe should fall into the Third Wave coffee movement. The movement itself started as a response to the big box coffee shops. Our desire within the movement, and within the cafe is to offer something very different. We take our time tasting and assessing our espresso, steam our milk with finesse, and serve only the best to our guests. We are the artisans and craftspeople of our industry. We believe that coffee is so much more than just your morning fuel. It engages communities globally and sparks relationships and conversations here in kelowna, and it tastes so good!
Our commitment to Canadian roasters:
At third space we are committed to serving and engaging with Canadian roasters. Not only does this stimulate our Canadian economy, it's also some of the best coffee available! We always carry Transcend Coffee out of Edmonton AB, and, Phil & Sebastian (Calgary). We want to serve the best possible small batch roasters. Our partners believe the same thing at their core that we believe; they love coffee, and want to engage in its story.
Our commitment to training:
Our barista staff are so passionate about learning. Regardless of our experience in the industry we firmly believe we are at the tip of the iceberg of our potential coffee knowledge. Our training program is an extensive 8 week training program, just to pull a shot of espresso and steam some milk! We offer ongoing training to our barista and senior staff. We work with competition trainers from different cities to elevate our skill set as well as skype training sessions with our tea provider Jaga Silk. We give our baristas to opportunity to go on barista exchanges, in order to glean from other cafes around the country and build relationships.
Our commitment to good food:
We are so proud to partner with Start Fresh Kitchen, a local caterer, and Not-for-profit. As our food and baking continues to evolve and grow, we work with local chefs and providers to ensure we are focusing on quality and local ingredients first. Our chef shops local farmers markets to use ingredients and our meats are all as local and as organic as we can possibly get. Our treats and baked goods come from Start Fresh and we consider it an honor and a joy to support these small business owners. We love healthy food, and firmly believe it should be delicious.
